Keep your Bio Media in a compact holder in your sump. Capable of holding 36 Bio Spheres in a compact 3.93" x 2.65" x 6.75" space while allowing water to flow freely through all sides.
Keeping your bio spheres like this will greatly increase efficiency when compared to the mesh bag sitting on the bottom of your sump. During a water change just quickly pull the holder out of the tank and give it a swish to keep detritus from settling.
